An influencer, known as Mara online, shared that Child Protective Services has closed a case weeks after her 2-year-old drowned in a pool — then recovered.

“I just got a letter from CPS. For those that don’t know, at the end of July, my 2-year-old daughter drowned. She thankfully lived and was resuscitated and everything but that happened and a CPS case was opened,” Mara said in a Sunday, September 7, TikTok video. “It’s been about six weeks that we’ve had CPS in our lives.”

Mara turned the camera around to share the envelope of the CPS letter, explaining that the note said the accusation was “neglectful supervision.” She alleged that the finding for the case was “unable to determine” and it has now been closed.

“I don’t know what I expected out of CPS. I don’t know what I thought was going to happen,” she continued. “I kind of wish there was more — I don’t know the right word — but punishment to the person who caused it. I don’t know. It’s closed now.”

New details surrounding the drowning death of Emilie and Brady Kiser’s son Trigg, 3, have emerged following the release of the redacted police report. The documents, obtained by Us Weekly on Friday, August 8, detail the events that led up to Trigg’s death on May 18 after he was pulled unconscious from a pool at […]

Mara previously explained that she “trusted this person to watch the kids in the pool and they looked away.” Mara noted that there were four adults outside, but she doesn’t blame any of them except one.

In the comments section of the TikTok, Mara explained that she misspoke when referring to the “punishment.” She wrote, “I should have used the word ‘accountable’ instead of punished. So switch those out when you listen to this video.”

Mara, who has amassed more than 173,000 TikTok followers as @theamazingmara, shared in July that 2-year-old daughter Sunny “fell into a backyard pool” and was “found floating face down.”

“She was pulled from the water & cpr immediately started while I called 911,” the post read. “Thankfully they got her breathing again. She is admitted to hospital & has been doing very well. We are all in shock & trying to process this but it’s very difficult. You never think it’ll happen to you until it does.”

An investigation into the death of influencer Emilie Kiser’s son Trigg closed nearly a month after his pool accident. The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly on Sunday, May 18, that Trigg died at age 3. Days earlier, Trigg was pulled unconscious from the family’s backyard pool. “The investigation into the circumstances surrounding […]

Mara, who is mom to six children, has been open about CPS being “in [their] lives” in the aftermath of the incident. Mara explained in an August TikTok that a CPS social worker interviewed her and her daughter’s father at the hospital and a CPS case worker interviewed the pair and all the children while also completing a “home walk-through.”

Mara alleged that CPS claimed this was an “isolated incident” and “not something that they need to be concerned about.” She captioned the post, “The CPS case wasn’t against me but as the mom they look into the family of the child so here we are.”
