Here’s a recap of my parents’ visit to Cville for my mom’s birthday plus other fun lately.
Happy Birthday to Grammie!
Mom and Dad came to visit us for my mom’s birthday (and the first day of spring – yay!)

Smart Sticky Notes – perfect for Mother’s + Father’s Day
While mom’s big present was a spa day and a fancy cake, the boys got her some of her favorite treats to give her when she arrived! (She is a Peeps fanatic). We used a Smart Sticky Note (sponsored) to add a video message to the front of her gift.
Smart Sticky Notes are peel-and-stick QR code labels you attach to any card or gift. The gift receiver scans the sticker and it unlocks a personal message — a voice note, photo, video, or written note recorded by you! It’s a great way to bring your card and gift to life, especially if you live far away.
And while gifts are a fun way to use them, you can use these anywhere you need to attach information to a physical thing – use one on luggage, moving boxes, instructions, your pet’s collar, and more. Get 20% off your purchase with the code MOTHERSDAY20.
Cake Party
On Friday night, mom’s bday, we went to Eastwood Winery and had their low country boil food truck! It was SO good. We came home to have the amazing Vivi’s cookie dough cake.
Getting Outside
We took several strolls around the neighborhood, stopping in the multiple playgrounds. And we cheered for Birch at his soccer game! He scored 2 goals <3 He has really taken to soccer this spring and has gotten quite a bit more aggressive!
Spa Day
It took my mom 70 years to get into spas! But now she loves them. My sister and I got her a Keswick spa day for her gift, and of course I couldn’t let her go alone. She loved Keswick and even got in the sauna with me!
Hike
While mom and I were at the spa, dad hung out with the boys! They went for a 3-mile hike, and Mazen showed off his mountain bike trails. Dad was also thrilled that Duke won their game!
We ended the weekend with more soccer (me this time!) and dinner from Al Carbon.
Are rare moment of harmony. Having a friend over always diffuses brotherly conflict.
Spring Sales
Our Place? is having a huge spring sale – 40% off site wide! If you’ve been eying the Wonder Oven ($54 off) or the Always Pan ($46 off) – ?shop the sale?!
I got a few new tee shirts for spring at Amazon. They are also having a spring sale! ?Check out the shirts here? – all less than $15.
Lastly, Colleen Rothschild is 25% off right now. You can see my favorites ?here?. The one product I SWEAR by is this ?Illuminating Eye Cream?. It is the best eye product I’ve ever used! It’s a brightener, color corrector, and concealer all in one.
Happy Birthday Barbelle!
Friends night out at Bebedero!
Kath Eats Real Food
I’ve been eating a lot of waffles and berries or yogurt and berries lately.
Sandwich Appearance!
I realized I rarely buy bread anymore because we don’t eat a lot of sandwiches. But I did get some rosemary sourdough and ham and it was great!
Salad Days
Most days I eat an arugula salad. This one was topped with cottage cheese for the protein!
Botanical
The best combo: the kale salad and a side of the amazing cauliflower!
Freezer Curry
HIGHLY recommend this freezer curry from Fit Foodie Finds! I loved it with the quick packet of coconut rice and mini naan. My advice: definitely thaw it completely for a full day before cooking. I tried to do the “quick thaw” under the sink and it took forever.
Have a great weekend!
