Trying out new hair care is nothing new for me. Thanks to my job (plus years of heat damage), I own a handful of products dedicated to saving my damaged and thinning strands. Because let’s face it — maintaining a healthy head of hair is a constant challenge, especially if you don’t know what’s actually worth using. I’ve been a longtime fan of Vegamour’s hair growth shampoos and serums, especially for filling in sparse spots and thickening hair. While celebrities like Nicole Kidman swear by the brand’s other natural solutions, it wasn’t until recently that its volumizing shampoo piqued my interest.

The $35 Uplift Volumizing Shampoo is Vegamour’s newest addition, and it’s ideal for fine, flat, or thinning hair. After trying it myself, I was pleasantly surprised with its hair-enhancing results. The formula features a thick and creamy texture (similar to a hair mask), which easily absorbs into the scalp to cleanse and deeply nourish, especially when paired with the conditioner. And still, it didn’t weigh down my hair when it came to giving it an extra boost. The treatment adds fullness and lifts hair with the aid of ingredients like rice protein, sophora root, and arrow root, per the brand. They remove buildup that can make hair appear flat, as well as plump up the hair follicles to create a thicker-looking mane.

Truthfully, I didn’t believe the hype over volumizing shampoos, especially as someone with a natural hair texture. However, after trying this Vegamour product, I felt a huge difference in my hair’s density — so much so, that it felt a few pounds heavier. My hairdresser even thought that I had new growth. It’s worth noting that these results were achieved after pressing it. That said, you may experience a more voluminous appearance if you choose to blow dry your hair instead after using this product. The volume, in my experience, typically lasts a day at most — so, think of it as a solution for a quick boost.

Meanwhile, the revitalizing formula also contains moisturizing and strand-strengthening ingredients like panthenol. This helps to smooth frizz, boost shine, and create more manageable tresses. Better yet, the shampoo and the rest of the collection provides heat protection to ensure your strands stay healthy. These products are also made without sulfates and chemicals, so it won’t strip even color-treated hair.

While it may not outrank other Vegamour products I’ve used, this volumizing shampoo is still worth trying if you want to lift and nourish strands. Plus, check out the rest of the volumizing collection, perfect for whenever your hair needs a quick pick-me-up, below.
