One of the most important factors to consider before buying a new pair of walking or running shoes is their level of arch support. It’s a feature podiatrists constantly talk about, as “proper arch support is important for providing stability and alignment, which will help support your body from the ground up,” said Dr. Janine Ferrigno-Taddeo, DPM, podiatrist and vice president of Millburn Podiatry Group, PC, in a previous EatingWell article.

This is especially true if you have conditions such as plantar fasciitis, chronic foot pain or fat pad atrophy, although this list could go on. Oftentimes, however, shoes that tick all of these boxes can be expensive. Thankfully, shoppers have found a pair that’s only $45 on Amazon. Despite their low price, these shoes have received consistent praise for their wide toe box and arch support, with many buyers comparing them directly to Hoka shoes.

Arch support is in many ways an all-encompassing feature that prevents foot ailments and aids in caring for existing ones. For folks with low arches, you may experience pronation or overpronation, which results in the foot rolling inward with each step. Folks with high arches may underpronate, where the foot makes the majority of its impact on the outside of the foot. Putting stress on the wrong part of your foot can cause plantar fasciitis, which means your plantar fascia is inflamed and often in pain. Foot pain across your whole foot can also occur if your shoes aren’t supportive enough.

That’s what makes these sneakers special to shoppers. They have a wide toe box, which allows your feet to properly splay. This offers much more stability, allowing you to get a firmer grip or step as you walk. Additionally, these shoes come with three-point arch support, meaning both ends and the center of your foot’s arch will be cushioned and cradled for proper alignment—no more awkward or painful movements!

These shoes are excellent for folks who experience fat pad atrophy, or the thinning of the fat pads on the soles of the feet, as they have a plush midsole that can help absorb shock for more comfortable runs and walks.

Hundreds of Amazon shoppers have raved about these sneakers’ thoughtful design. “I finally found the shoes my feet need: I no longer have to buy the expensive orthotic-style shoes. These are like walking on a cloud,” wrote one person. “I was born with natural bunions and wide feet. The wide toe box and incredible arch support are everything! Don’t wait, order now,” they added.

Other users directly compared these to their more expensive Hoka sneakers. “They feel great with my plantar fasciitis. I could feel the arch support right away. The Hoka brand has competition with these shoes and I may have to give up Hoka,” a second reviewer said, adding that these shoes are “less than a third of the price” of their Hoka Bondi shoes. “I have three pairs of Hokas and these are the best running shoes I have ever had,” a third person wrote.

Amazon users even reported that people think these are expensive brand-name shoes. “I had so many people ask me where I got my Hokas, which made me laugh,” one shopper said. “I work on my feet all day (nurse) and some of the floors I stand on all day leave my knees, back and neck hurt. Not with these shoes! I worked an 8-hour shift and felt zero pain like I had with my other shoes.”

These sneakers come in 10 colors and are available in sizes from 5.5 wide to 10.5 wide. With the added coupon, you can grab them for only $45—a total steal, especially compared to expensive brands. The breathable upper, durable laces and thoughtful, orthopedic design make these sneakers the perfect pair to grab for all of your summer walks and runs! Shop them on Amazon now.
