Two of Britney Spears’ ex-husbands are seemingly at odds, as Sam Asghari appeared to throw shade at Kevin Federline over the latter’s upcoming memoir.
The Traitors star, 31, was asked by TMZ on Saturday, August 16, if he had any thoughts on Federline, 47, writing about his marriage to Spears, 43, in his new book, You Thought You Knew.
“[Kevin] was a professional father, so it would be the first book that would tell you about how to be a professional father,” Asghari replied with a grin.
Federline hinted on August 6 that his “extremely intimate and transparent” memoir You Thought You Knew delves into his two-year marriage to Spears in order to dispel misconceptions. (His autobiography will be released October 21.)

Both Federline and Asghari were married to Spears at very different points of her life. The “Toxic” singer wed Federline months after she had first marriage to childhood friend, Jason Allen Alexander, annulled in 2004. Federline and Spears welcomed two sons — Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18 — prior to their separation in 2006. (Federline also shares Kori Madison, 23, and Kaleb Michael Jackson, 21, with ex-fiancée Shar Jackson. The DJ and rapper and his current wife, Victoria Prince, have two daughters — Jordan Kay, 14, and Peyton Marie, 11.)

Asghari was with Spears through the final days of the financial conservatorship that dominated her life for nearly 14 years. The couple got engaged in September 2021 and ultimately exchanged vows at Spears’ home in June 2022.
Spears’ third marriage lasted just over a year before Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he announced via Instagram at the time. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. S*** happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”

Asghari subsequently claimed on the “Trading Secrets” podcast in June 2025 that he insisted on Spears signing a prenup to protect her assets before they tied the knot.

“I wanted her to have a prenup,” Asghari recalled. “I wanted to make sure she’s protected, because throughout her life, everybody — I don’t know one person that’s ever been in her life that didn’t take advantage of her. So it’s very sad. I wanted to make sure that I’m the person that [didn’t] do that.”
Asghari has moved on to date real estate agent Brooke Irvine. He exclusively told Us Weekly in April that his new relationship is “not about Hollywood.”
“It’s all about love. That’s what it is,” he told Us. “It’s not about the industry, it’s not about Hollywood. It’s about what really is the most important thing, and that’s being present, being in the moment and supporting others that are doing this same thing.”
