With strong support from the community and a generous company match, California-based Oliver’s Market’s Annual Holiday Bell Campaign brought a total of $68,714 for the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB).

Now in its 10th year, the annual holiday campaign raised the highest amount ever to support REFB’s ongoing work to provide food to more than 135,000 individuals throughout Sonoma County and its neighboring counties.

According to the company, Oliver’s purchased the bells in support of the program, which were then sold at all four Sonoma County store locations from Thanksgiving week through Christmas Eve. Every dollar donated by customers went directly to those in need. Oliver’s matched the first 15,000 bells sold, resulting in 53,714 bells being turned into the more than $68,000 donation to REFB.

“The generosity of our customers is greater than we could have imagined,” said Scott Gross, general manager of Oliver’s Market. “With a little encouragement from our front-end teams, our customers demonstrated their generosity and holiday spirit this year to support local neighbors experiencing food insecurity. I am gratified to see this inspiring and much needed support of Redwood Empire Food Bank through this annual campaign.”

“The outcome of this year’s campaign reaffirms the remarkable spirit of our community,” added Rachelle Mesheau, director of marketing and communications for REFB. “Oliver’s Market and its customers, once again, demonstrated generosity, showing that together, we can make a significant impact for our neighbors in need. We extend heartfelt thanks for this incredible partnership in our ongoing mission to End Hunger in Our Community.”
