Spring & Mulberry has expanded its nationwide chocolate bar recall to include additional flavors, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Jan. 14. The company initially recalled its Mint Leaf-flavored chocolate bar on Jan. 12 after routine testing came back positive for Salmonella, a pathogen that can cause severe foodborne illness. To date, no infections have been reported in connection to the recalled chocolate.
The initial recall affected Spring & Mulberry Mint Leaf Date-Sweetened Chocolate Bars, 2.1 oz, with a lot code of 025255. The following flavors are now impacted in the recall expansion:
- Earl Grey; lot code: 025258; box color: purple
- Lavender Rose; lot codes: 025259 and 025260; box color: light blue
- Mango Chili; lot code: 025283; box color: orange
- Mixed Berry; lot codes: 025275, 025281, and 025337; box color: purple
- Mulberry Fennel; lot code: 025345; box color: burgundy
- Pecan Date; lot codes: 025261, 025265, 025267, 025268, 025339, and 025343; box color: yellow
- Pure Dark Minis; lot code: 025273; box color: blue
All of the recalled chocolate bars were sold online and through certain retailers, such as Whole Foods and Nordstrom, since Sept. 15, 2025.
If you have any of the affected chocolate bars, do not eat them. Request a refund or replacement by sending a photo of the product with the lot code to Spring & Mulberry at recalls@springandmulberry.com. Then throw them away.
If you’re concerned about Salmonella after eating recalled chocolate, watch for common symptoms, such as fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Salmonella can cause fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
