More than 3,000 pounds of poke sold at Costco stores in 33 states have been recalled, the Food and Drug Administration announced Saturday.

The recalled Kirkland Signature brand ahi tuna poke may be contaminated with Listeria, bacteria that can cause serious or life-threatening illness.

If you purchased this product, check your fridge and throw it out immediately.

The recalled poke, produced by Western United Fish Company dba Annasea Foods Group, can be identified by the following information:

    • Brand: Kirkland Signature
    • Product name: Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke
    • Item number: 17193
    • Sell-by date: Sept. 22, 2025
    • Pack date: Sept. 18, 2025

The recalled poke was sold on Sept. 18 in the deli section of Costco stores in the following states:

    • Alabama
    • Alaska
    • Colorado
    • Connecticut
    • Delaware
    • Florida
    • Georgia
    • Idaho
    • Indiana
    • Louisiana
    • Maine
    • Maryland
    • Massachusetts
    • Minnesota
    • Mississippi
    • Missouri
    • Montana
    • Nebraska
    • New Hampshire
    • New Jersey
    • New Mexico
    • New York
    • North Carolina
    • Ohio
    • Oregon
    • Pennsylvania
    • South Carolina
    • Tennessee
    • Texas
    • Utah
    • Virginia
    • Washington
    • Wisconsin

Western United Fish Company initiated the recall after being notified that the green onions in the poke tested positive for Listeria.

In healthy adults, Listeria can cause short-term symptoms that include:

    • High fever
    • Severe headache
    • Stiffness
    • Nausea
    • Abdominal pain
    • Diarrhea

However, Listeria can lead to life-threatening infections in young children, the elderly, and others with weakened immune systems.

To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled poke.

If you’re a Costco shopper, check your fridge for the recalled ahi tuna poke. If you have the product, do not eat it. Throw it away immediately and visit your local Costco for a full refund.

Seek medical attention if you or a loved one shows signs of a Listeria infection after eating the recalled poke.
