TikToker Malik Taylor has died at the age of 28.

His death was announced in a social media post made by Alpha Kappa Psi, Taylor’s fraternity at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share our beloved Brother, Malik Taylor, has gone to ‘Audit Eternal,’” the business fraternity wrote via Instagram on Thursday, August 21. “To know him was to know he was a light to everyone — always bringing laughter, joy and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered.”

The post continued, “Brother Taylor embodied the values of brotherhood, unity and compassion. His ability to uplift others, share kindness and spread joy will forever remain in our memories.”

Taylor’s cause of death has yet to be revealed.

In the days before his death, Taylor was posting videos to Instagram and addressing various topics, including WWE star Naomi announcing her pregnancy and the NFL highlighting male cheerleaders.

In his final TikTok video posted before his death, Taylor celebrated his move from Memphis, Tennessee, to Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Everybody stop me and say, ‘Oh, why you move to Charlotte, North Carolina?’” Malik said on Tuesday, August 19. “Because I heard the Queen City needed a king. The Queen City needed a king. And before you be like, ‘Oh, I’m here, I’m here.’ Exactly. That’s why they called for me.”

Across both his Instagram and TikTok accounts, Taylor earned a following of more than 250,000 people.

His recent posts are now flooded with comments from fans expressing shock over his death.

“Rest in peace handsome,” TikToker Raymonte shared in the comments section. Bad Girls Club alum Judi Jai added, “Your voice will live on forever. Thank you for interviewing me. RIP.”

Taylor also had his own YouTube channel, The Unpopular Party, where he would break down pop culture moments in explainer-style videos. Recent topics included season 7 of Love Island USA and Nicki Minaj’s social media behavior.
