Hilary Rhoda and Sean Avery have had their fair share of ups and downs before and after the supermodel filed for divorce in July 2022.
Sparks flew between Rhoda and Avery when they met at a New York City bar in 2009. The pair eventually tied the knot in New York in October 2015.
“I can say I’m part of the age-old story: girl walks into a bar and guy says to his buddy, ‘That’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, and I’m going to marry her,’” Avery recalled to Hamptons Magazine ahead of their wedding day.
Five years into their marriage, Rhoda and the retired hockey player announced they were expecting their first child after previously struggling to conceive. Their son, Nash, was born in July 2020.

Two years later, Rhoda filed for divorce, requesting to share legal custody of the pair’s child with Avery, per docs obtained by Us Weekly at the time. After a rocky few years, Avery revealed in August 2025 that he and Rhoda never legally got divorced and were back together.
