On Feb. 3, Herbalist & Alchemist (Washington, NJ) announced it has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for its dietary supplement manufacturing practices. The UL National Brand Certification Program assesses the “extent to which an organization conforms to the applicable regulations and/or standards regarding the products being manufactured.”
Following an inspection of its good manufacturing practice and quality system, UL found Herbalist & Alchemist confirmed with National Brand Certification and Dietary Supplements 21 CFR Part 111 et al, 21 CFR Part 121, 21 CFR Part 117 (Subparts A, B and F), and 11 CFR Part 1 (Subpart L), NPA GMP Standard for Dietary Supplements.
The scope is for the manufacturing and packaging of dietary supplement liquid and solid extracts, the company said.
“Having the UL certification symbol on our website and in other marketing materials is an easily recognizable symbol that tells our customers we have been inspected by a trustworthy certification authority, and found to meet high standards” said H&A CEO Beth Lambert. “While we have always been confident about our processes, this additional assurance makes it easier for consumers to assess a brand’s quality assurance.”
