More than 9,000 pounds of frozen meatballs sold at Aldi have been recalled nationwide, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Sunday. The meatballs may contain metal, which poses a safety hazard if consumed. A customer complained of the metal fragments, but no injuries have been reported to date. FSIS still gave the recall the highest risk level, Class I.

The recall affects about 9,462 pounds of frozen meatballs produced by Rosina Food Products, Inc. that can be identified with the following:

    • Product name: Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs
    • Size: 32 oz., with about 64 meatballs per package
    • Best-by date: 10/30/26
    • Timestamps: between 17:08 and 18:20
    • Establishment number: EST. 4286B

If you’re an Aldi shopper, check your freezer for the recalled meatballs. If you have the products, do not eat them—toss or return them instead.

If you’re concerned about an injury after eating the recalled meatballs, contact a healthcare provider, FSIS advised. You can also report a problem on the agency’s Electronic Consumer Complaint Monitoring System.
