    • FSIS recalls 2.2 million pounds of Golden Island Fire-Grilled Korean Barbecue Pork Jerky.
    • The jerky was sold at Costco and Sam’s Club locations nationwide.
    • This recall is due to a potential metal contamination in the product—check your pantry ASAP.

There’s an active recall on approximately 2,277,540 pounds of ready-to-eat pork jerky sold nationwide, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). This is due to a possible foreign matter contamination.

The product impacted is 14.5- and 16-ounce plastic pouches of Golden Island Fire-Grilled Korean Barbecue Pork Jerky. The best-by dates on the affected packaging range from October 23, 2025 through September 23, 2026, and it contains establishment number “M279A” inside the mark of inspection. The recalled jerky was sold at Costco and Sam’s Club locations nationwide.

The recall was announced after the company received multiple consumer complaints of finding “pieces of wiry metal” in the product. The FSIS writes, “[The establishment] determined that the metal originated from the conveyor belt used in production.”

Check your pantry for this recalled snack and dispose of it immediately or return to your place of purchase for a refund. While no confirmed injuries were reported, contact a healthcare provider if you are showing signs of any illness or injury after consuming the recalled product.

For questions about this recall, contact the company via email at info@goldenislandjerky.com.
