If you’re eating more high-protein meals these days, you’ll want to try these cozy, satisfying soups, bursting with flavor and your favorite nutrient. All of these soups have at least 15 grams of protein per serving, which will help keep you full and satisfied for longer. While you might think soup can take a lot of time to prepare, these filling, high-protein soups require just 20 minutes of active prep time, so you can have a delicious dinner that’s easy to make. Try our classic Sick Day Chicken Noodle Soup or our hearty Slow-Cooker Loaded Broccoli & Chicken Soup for a nourishing dinner you’ll want every night.

    Sick Day Chicken Noodle Soup

Photographer: Robby Lozano, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall, Prop Stylist: Lydia Pursell

This sick-day chicken noodle soup, packed with tender chicken, warm broth and soft noodles, is designed to soothe and nourish when you’re feeling under the weather. The combination of tender chicken breast, ginger and garlic boosts flavor, while the warm broth helps clear congestion and keep you hydrated. Ready in just 20 minutes, this soup is the perfect remedy for a cold, offering comfort and relief with minimal effort.

Harira (Moroccan Tomato, Lentil & Beef Soup)

Photographer: Rachel Marek, Food stylist: Lauren McAnelly, Prop stylist: Gabriel Greco

Harira is a tomato-based soup featured at the center of many Moroccan tables during the month of Ramadan. It’s often enjoyed as part of iftar—the meal served to break the fast each evening—along with dates, milk, hard-boiled eggs, semolina pancakes and chebakia (sesame cookies). This version features chickpeas, lentils, beef and noodles in a fragrant tomato broth, but there are endless variations on the soup.

Slow-Cooker Loaded Broccoli & Chicken Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall, Prop Stylist: Shell Royster

This comforting soup is loaded with broccoli and chicken in a creamy, cheesy base and finished off with the classic toppings of bacon and scallions. Frozen onions and rice keep their integrity and add texture to the soup, but chopped fresh onions and cooked brown rice (not frozen) can be used in their place.

Slow-Cooker Spinach & Artichoke Chicken Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall, Prop Stylist: Shell Royster

If you love spinach and artichokes, this is the perfect soup for you. The creamy base is packed with veggies and shredded chicken, which soaks up the broth while adding a boost of protein. Frozen artichoke hearts have less sodium than canned, but canned can be used in their place. Just be sure to give them a good rinse before adding them to the slow cooker.

    High-Protein Tex-Mex Chicken Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall , Prop Stylist: Julia Bayless

Make this grab-and-go Tex-Mex–inspired soup when you have leftover chicken, or use rotisserie chicken for this easy meal-prep soup. The frozen pepper-onion mix adds flavor and saves time in the kitchen, while the black beans add fiber and protein. Combine everything but the broth ahead of time, then add it and heat it in the microwave when you’re ready to eat. If you don’t wish to travel with liquid broth or don’t have access to a microwave, you can use reduced-sodium bouillon instead and just add hot water.

    Peanut Noodle Cup Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall , Prop Stylist: Julia Bayless

This peanut noodle soup is packed with tender-crisp vegetables and tofu. The base is made ahead of time so the tofu has a chance to absorb some of the flavor before the broth is added. Packaged precooked noodles save on prep time, but any leftover noodles can be used in their place. If the precooked noodles are sticking together, soak them in hot water for a few minutes to help them loosen up.

    Lemony Chicken & Rice Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall , Prop Stylist: Shell Royster

The Greek lemon-chicken soup avgolemono is the inspiration for this 20-minute recipe. Eggs and lemon are tempered into the broth to add richness and creaminess. You can use microwaveable brown rice or use 1 cup leftover rice if you have it on hand.

Chicken Noodle Soup with Spinach & Parmesan

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Emily Nabors Hall , Prop Stylist: Shell Royster

Wine and garlic add depth to this quick and simple chicken noodle soup. The pasta will absorb broth as the soup sits, so if you want to make a double batch or are planning on eating this over multiple days, cook the pasta separately and add it when you’re ready to serve.

    Quick Lemony Chicken Soup

Photographer: Greg Dupree, Food Stylist: Jennifer Wendorf, Prop Stylist: Josh Hoggle

This 20-minute dish provides 32 grams of protein and is just 261 calories per serving. To ensure this comforting soup’s velvety texture, whisk a little of the hot broth into the eggs before adding them to the pot. Doing so cooks them gently and prevents curdling.

    Easy Tortellini Soup

Photographer: Greg Dupree, Food Stylist: Ana Kelley, Prop Stylist: Christina Brockman

This nourishing, vibrant soup is on the table quickly, making it the perfect weeknight meal. The broth is delicate and creamy, thanks to the Parmesan rind, while dried basil adds an herbaceous note. We call for cheese tortellini, but you can easily swap in your favorite kind.

    Vegetarian Lasagna Soup

photographer: Jennifer Causey, food stylist: Ali Ramee, prop stylist: Claire Spollen

All the delicious flavors of a vegetarian lasagna can be found in this cozy soup. Mushrooms, zucchini and spinach provide color and nutrients, while a ricotta-and-mozzarella topping provides the signature cheesiness and creaminess. Serve with a side salad or crusty bread for dipping.

    Curried Chicken & Cabbage Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Prop Stylist: Claire Spollen, Food Stylist: Ali Ramee

The Madras curry powder gives this curried chicken soup a bit of heat, but you can use a mild curry powder if you prefer.

Kimchi-Tofu Soup with Sesame & Egg

Photographer: Jen Causey, Prop Stylist: Claire Spollen, Food Stylist: Ali Ramee

Cubed tofu soaks up the delicious aromatic broth, full of tang and flavor from prepared kimchi, garlic paste and ginger paste. Use your favorite brand of kimchi, just be sure to drain it before adding. A fried egg adds protein to this vegetarian kimchi-tofu soup. If you avoid eating seafood, look for a brand of kimchi that’s vegetarian.

    Chicken & Dumplings Soup

Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Chelsea Zimmer

This hearty and warming chicken-and-dumplings soup features whole-wheat biscuits that offer a boost of fiber while maintaining a light texture. Thyme and parsley add freshness to the traditional flavors of this crowd-pleasing soup.

    Chicken Orzo Soup

This quick chicken orzo soup has warm, comforting flavors from the perfect combination of broth, chicken and vegetables. The orzo makes it filling without weighing it down.
