Sophie Turner confessed she once accidentally broke up a celebrity couple — and fans think they’ve figured out the pair who were involved.
While visiting Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday, August 14, Turner, 29, and the show’s host recounted the first time they met at a San Diego Comic-Con party in 2014.
“That night was actually quite crazy for me,” Turner told Meyers, 51.
After she was asked what happened, Turner explained of the couple, “I really can’t name names or I’ll get in a lot of trouble.”

“So I brought my best friend from my school days with me, and she saw this actor that she loved,” she continued. “And she obviously just goes to me, like, ‘Can you just say hi?’”
Turner said she didn’t know the actor in question, so she smiled and waved at him — and moved on with her
life. “And then later on, I see this girl looking at me, and she’s a famous actress,” she continued. “And I was like, ‘Oh, I have to go and tell her how much she means to me.’”
She ended up crossing the room to say hi to the actress in question. “I dance on over and she goes, ‘Can you stop f***ing flirting with my fiancé?’” Turner recalled. “And I was like, ‘Who’s your fiancé?’ She points at the guy that I’d waved at. And I have no idea who this man is.”

Unfortunately, things got worse. “And then turns out, I think they broke their engagement off that night because of my [wave],” Turner explained. “I didn’t realize I held this power!”
Fans flocked to social media to attempt to crack the mystery, theorizing that it was Emma Roberts and Evan Peters who ended their engagement due to Turner’s wave.
“The streets are saying it’s Emma Roberts and Evan Peters, which tracks,” wrote one person on Reddit.
The theory actually seemed to make sense to plenty of fans. As a second person pointed out, “Emma was the star of a Nickelodeon show when Sophie was aged 8-12. (Unfabulous.) people still go up to Miley Cyrus and Zendaya and gush about Hannah Montana and how much they loved the Disney Channel stuff. So I can absolutely see Sophie being like “OH MY GOD, ITS EMMA ROBERTS FROM NICKOLODEON.”
A third person linked to a 2014 article from the Daily Mail with the headline, “PICTURED: A tearful Emma Roberts is comforted by friends in the early hours of the morning… after attending two Comic-Con parties with fiancé Evan Peters.”

Police in Montreal were called to the pair’s hotel after a disturbance in their room was reported. Officers noted at the time of their arrival that Peters had both a bite mark and a bleeding nose.
A rep for the former couple told Us at the time, “It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it.”
